Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is made up of hardworking, willing volunteers, who usually commit to contribute labor and their intellectual resources. We always need more patients, their families, physicians, and business leaders to get involved. Currently Directors are not required to make financial contributions. We do look for individuals experienced with organizational management. Past and current directors have all come from Canada and the U.S. simply because of time differences and travel distance. A small cadre of locals make up the executive team, and are consulted on daily issues and immediate concerns. Currently, the executive team includes four members. Neither the office staff nor the executives are permitted to make solo decisions on any important or consequential issues. We meet weekly / telephonically, sometimes daily, to keep everyone informed. We are considering doubling the size of the Board of Directors, and setting a ten thousand dollar annual "give or get" amount - which would be the threshold for evidence of serious commitment. As such, each director would be required to donate or solicit and procure a donation of that amount each year. The members of the Board of Directors govern the PNA, making policy decisions regarding the current and future direction of the organization. The Board will plan our future, govern the present and interact with government offices, other organizations, and the news media.
