Evaluation and Management of Cushing's Disease and Acromegaly

Pituitary Network Association's CEO/Chairman Robert Knutzen will be a making an appearance at this symposium as a speaker. Please join Robert and the Barrow Faculty for an opportunity to obtain a better understanding of Acromegaly and Cushing's Syndrome, appropriate and timely screening and testing, evaluation and selection of medical and/or surgical treatment strategies, and a multidisciplinary management of patients that would reduce delays in diagnosis and improve patient care.

Target Audience

Endocrinologists, primary care physicians, residents, and nurses who desire to update their knowledge and competence in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with Acromegaly and Cushing's Syndrome.

OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:

1. Describe the general principles of diagnosis, treatment and management of Acromegaly and Cushing's Syndrome
2. Evaluate and select the appropriate diagnostic test to confirm the diagnosis of Acromegaly or Cushing's Syndrome
3. Recognize the difficulties in the diagnosis and interpretation of test results in Cushing's Syndrome
4. Evaluate different medical options and select the appropriate treatment for patients with Acromegaly and Cushing's Syndrome
5. Compare the outcomes seen with surgical and radiation treatment of Acromegaly and Cushing's Syndrome
6. Consider issues associated with Acromegaly and Cushing's Syndrome including quality of life, excess mortality, and healthcare resource utilization to manage patients within a multidisciplinary setting
7. Discuss the controversies seen in the care of patients with Acromegaly and Cushing's Syndrome

Goal
