The Late Bloomer: Pituitary Disease as a Sex Comedy

Late BloomerThe movie “The Late Bloomer” has just come out, and it is based on the life story of Ken Baker, a longtime associate of the Pituitary Network Association. Baker wrote a book called “Man Made: A Memoir of My Body” that tells of how Baker, now a journalist and Hollywood pundit, experienced delayed puberty until he had successful surgery to remove a pituitary brain tumor. The movie recasts his experience as a sex comedy based on the premise of a man suddenly going through puberty at 30 years old.
