Hi Emil, I am not a medical professional, so my best advice on this is to discuss these concerns with your physician. Make sure you explain your panic attacks and heart palpitations so he fully understands what going on and you can work together on a plan for you to initiate your acromegaly treatment. If you are in therapy for your panic attacks, you might discuss this with your therapist as well and perhaps the therapist will have some strategies to help you. Best wishes on your journey!

Checking tolerance to Ocreotite-Sandostatin before starting the treatment was created by emilpopa

Hello,
I was diagnosed with Acromegaly and the specialist prescribed me Sandostatinn LAR 30 mg IM  to be injected once/month for 3 months for now.
I am afraid to start this as I don't know how the Ocreotite will be tolerated. I have episodes of heart palpitations and afraid that the treatment will affect my heart natural peacemaker/electric signals then my heart beats will be put in jeopardy.
In these circumstances should I ask the doctor to have a testing period with underskin injections to understand how the chemical is tolerated?
If my body has an allergy to this drug, is there any antidote to this?
If anybody can provide an answer it will be greatly appreciated.I have episodes of terrible panic attack that makes my life much more difficult.
Regards
