Hello,

Thank you for your service. I do not have medical training so I do not know what your lab results mean. I can suggest that you find a pituitary specialist. Empty sella and other pituitary related disorders can be difficult to diagnose and manage. Finding an endocrinologist that specializes in the treatment of pituitary disorders is very important. If possible a team of doctors in a pituitary center is your best bet. Doctors in pituitary centers work together to determine your best treatment options based on your particular case.

We have a list of pituitary specialists and pituitary centers on our website. Here are links to both.

Your quality of life can be greatly impacted by not having optimized care. You may have to go out of your network but finding the right care could make a big difference for you. We did a webinar about Empty Sella a while ago that may be helpful to you. I have included a link to our webinars page and the one on Empty Sella is about half way down the page.

Pituitary symptoms but normal labs

I need help. I was recently diagnoised with empty sella after I have had several years of undiagnosied or misdiagnoised illnesses. In 2007 I started with headaches, Hair Loss, Vision Loss, Abnormal menstral cycles, low calcuim High PTH and they finally diagnosed me with HyperParathyroid. this year my vison started to decline only in my left eye at distance, headaches became worse, daily nausea, abnormal facial heair, Loss in libdo, back pain, neck pain, muscle athrophy in thighs, anixety, HBP, frequent urination, adult acne, breast milky discharge, cold tolerance, absent menstral cycles, dizzeness and I just feel horrible everyday and extremely tired where some nights i just fall asleep unexpectly, loss of memory loss and confusion to a point it scares me.

MRI shows a empty sella with pituitary gland plaster agianst the wall. All my test have been normal borderline as my doctors explains.

I am going through a medical board with the military due to my issues now. Is this in my head

My endocronlogist prescribed me bromocriptine mesylate , spironolactone 100mg just cause

All I get is theres no lab that supports whats wrong with me. I have physical symptoms but labs are normal to a degree basically. with the exception of WBC is high , RBC high, Anion Gap low for several years, Cloride high, FSH high, Glucose low, MCHC low, Monocytes High, MPV high, Neutrophils low, Potassium, low PTH high slightly,SHBG high,Urobinogen high, Vit D low, testrone low, alkaline phosphatese low.

I have no idea what this all means but they say it doesnt fit with Pituitary. What else could my symptoms be from.

I do not know where else to go.

Hello Omarabid,

Are you seeing a pituitary specialist? I highly recommend that you find a pituitary endocrinologist and discuss all of your symptoms with them. I suggest keeping a log of your symptoms and going over everything in depth with your doctor. You need to find a doctor that will address your symptoms and the reasons for your partial empty sella. I don't know where you live but here is a link to our list of pituitary specialists:

Look for one in your area and get a second opinion. If you have further questions or would like additional information, feel free to contact me at (805) 499-9973 or by email at [email protected]

Take care,
Tammy

Partially Empty Sella with hypopituitary symptoms was created by omarabid

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if you guys could help me out.

For the past 2-3 years I've noticed that my testicles have been shrinking and my libido has been decreasing. In addition to this, I also experience tiredness, cold intolerance, digestive issues and difficulty focusing/remembering new information. The MRI scan that I had done showed that I have a partially empty sella, yet blood tests show that my TSH, FSH, LH, cortisol, testosterone levels are within normal range (although they are low normal for all). What could be causing this if all my levels are coming back as 'normal'?

Thanks
