× Hypogonadism can occur for a number of reasons. Certain men have hypogonadism since birth while others may develop this condition later in life. The two types of hypogonadism are Primary Hypogonadism & Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism.

Kallmann syndrome - Delayed or absent puberty was created by neilsmith38

I am new to this forum and would like to find fellow patients who have Kallmann syndrome or congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.

I talk to fellow patients around the world and am keen to raise awareness for this rare condition and to connect to as many fellow patients as possible.

The condition causes puberty to fail to start or to fully complete. It affects both men and women and people with the condition are invariably infertile with very low levels of androgens.

The condition is primarily a GnRH deficiency condition which prevents the pituitary gland from releasing its gonadotropins (LH / FSH) which prevents puberty from starting and prevents the reproductive cycle from occurring.

Kallmann syndrome is also associated with a lack of sense of smell (anosmia).
