Hello, and thank you for reaching out on our Forums. I am not a medical professional but I would recommend seeing a surgeon who specializes in pituitary tumors. Due to the complexity of the pituitary gland and surrounding structures it is best to choose a surgeon that has extensive experience at removing pituitary tumors. The skill of the surgeon has been shown to have an impact on the patients future quality of life.

We have a list of pituitary specialists here on our website. Here is a link to the page:

Each person's case is different so having a team of doctors that includes a neurosurgeon and an endocrinologist is also recommended. I hope this helps. Feel free to contact us if you have additional questions.

Kindest regards,

Pituitary Gland Surgery Sublabial vs Transnasal was created by tguichin1

Good evening from the East Coast,

I was told that I need to have a surgery to take out my Pituitary Tumor. I spoke to a nerosurgeon that uses the sublabial practice of removing the tumor, but from what I've researched, transnasal endoscopic is the best way to go.

Can someone provide me with pros and cons for each one, and which one is recommended.

Thank you!
