Fertility in the Panhypopituitary Patient

Our webinar " Fertility in the Panhypopituitary Patient " was presented February 6, 2012 by Dr. George Koulianos, Program Director at The Center for Reproductive Medicine at the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama. He also serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of South Alabama. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in Houston, Texas. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Texas Tech Health Science Center at Amarillo in Texas. He completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, and at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. While at Tulane he was awarded the CIBA Fellowship for Research in Endocrinology of the Post Reproductive Woman by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Koulianos has 21 years of experience in the treatment of complex infertility disorders for a range of conditions including PCOS, endometriosis, male factor, panhypopituitary patients and recurrent pregnancy loss. He has performed over 3000 in vitro fertilization procedures for couples dealing with infertility and has over 3,000 babies.

Dr Koulianos is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on issues relating to hormonal contraception, menopause and infertility. He has had articles published in such journals as the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, US Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cutis, Seminars in Reproductive Endocrinology and Endocrinology.

Presentation Objectives:

• Improve understanding of fertility testing needed by panhypopituitary patients prior to beginning treatment.

• Understand the reproductive physiology of panhypopituitism and its effect on fertility

• Review treatment options and success rates

• Discuss the early endocrinology of pregnancy
