The University of Michigan Pituitary and Neuroendocrine Center is a nationally and internationally recognized resource available to provide a full service multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of pituitary and hypothalamic disorders. Treatment options include surgery, conventional and focused radiation (radiosurgery) and the complete spectrum of medical treatments. The faculty provides an extensive experience in treating pituitary tumors (including prolactinomas, Cushing?s disease, acromegaly and non-functioning tumors) as well as craniopharyngiomas, meningiomas and other disorders of the pituitary - hypothalamic region.

Basic and clinical research programs address the pathogenesis of pituitary tumors, the physiological mechanisms of pituitary hormone secretion, and improved diagnostic and theraputic approaches in patients with pituitary and hypothalamic pathology. Several current protocols utilize experimental medications for the treatment of pituitary tumors.

The University of Michigan is a nationally and internationally recognized pituitary center. As such, we participate in clinical trials to test new compounds for treatment of pituitary diseases. Our patients have research to unique and effective therapies that are not available elsewhere.

Our pituitary neurosurgeons have extensive experience in minimally invasive procedures, including advanced endoscopic techniques for complex pituitary surgery.
