Pituitary Story: UK Woman Discovers Tumor After Almost Losing Sight

A UK woman realized while on vacation that her sight was deteriorating. Not long afterward she underwent transsphenoidal surgery to remove a pituitary tumor. Read more:

Bones of a Famous 19th Century Acromegalic Recovered in Spain

Anthropologists in Spain have recently exhumed the bones of a famous acromegalic named Miguel Joaquin Eleicegui, known as the Giant of Altzo. He toured Europe as a curiosity in the mid-1800’s. His bones were believed to have been stolen by grave robbers but were found intact by a team of researchers. He stood 7’10” tall and weighed 470 lbs. He passed away in 1861. His story is the basis for the 2017 film named “Giant”.
