Short Description
The Multidisciplinary Neuroendocrine Center at the University of Rochester provides comprehensive care to patients with pituitary and hypothalamic disorders. Bringing together the expertise of endocrinologists, neurosurgeons, and affiliated physicians in Radiation Oncology, Neuroimaging and Neuro-ophthalmology, the Center is a regional referral center for the evaluation and treatment of pituitary tumors and tumors or disorders of the hypothalamic-pituitary region.
Description

The Center offers detailed outpatient evaluation of all disorders affecting the endocrine function of the pituitary gland and hypothalamus by coordinating office visits, hormone testing, radiologic studies and visual field evaluations. All patients receive simultaneous neurosurgical and endocrinologic evaluation and, when appropriate, plans are made for input from specialists in radiation oncology, neuro-ophthalmology, neurology, reproductive medicine, and genetic counseling. After each visit, every patient has a diagnostic and therapeutic plan, and these plans are coordinated with the referring physician so that continuity of care is assured. In addition to providing comprehensive neuroendocrine care to our patients, the Center also helps coordinate information resources important to patients, to their families and loved ones, and to referring physicians. The Center actively organizes support groups, provides links to web-based information, and is a participant in the Pituitary Network Association (PNA). The faculty of the Center also provide continuing medical education (CME) to physicians throughout upstate New York, and are active in regional and national professional organizations dedicated to the care of patients with pituitary and hypothalamic disorders. For urgent consults, or to schedule a routine appointment, call 585-273-2343.Multidisciplinary Neuroendocrine Center2180 South Clinton AveRochester, NY 14618Phone: 585-273-2343Fax: 585-276-2051
