Interests Dr. Mickey has extensive experience in the surgical removal of benign and malignant tumors involving the base of the skull. He and his colleagues at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas believe that a pituitary tumor requires a multidisciplinary a Many tumors will respond to medical management and do not need to be surgically resected. Those that do not respond to medical management or are causing compression of the nerves for vision require immediate evaluation and possible surgical removal.
