Description

Patients at the Northwestern Medicine Malnati Brain Tumor Institute receive care from a world-renowned, multidisciplinary team of specialists who work collaboratively to provide each patient with the best possible quality of life, in addition to the best possible care. This team not only includes physicians specialized in every kind of brain tumor, but also a social worker and patient navigator exclusively dedicated to our patients.

Ranked top 10 nationally in scientific research funding, our physician-scientists have pioneered new therapies and developed standards of care to improve quality of life and prolong survival for patients with rare brain and spine tumors. These advancements have been developed into a variety of specialty programs to address rare or difficult to treat tumor types.

Northwestern Medicine Malnati Brain Tumor Institute is also one of the first institutions in the U.S. to offer a service called DNA methylation profiling to help diagnose brain tumors. Methylation profiling helps us more accurately identify what type of brain tumor you have by analyzing the epigenetic makeup of the tumor. Finally, the Institute offers one of the largest clinical trial portfolios for brain tumors in the Midwest, giving patients access to therapies that are not yet widely available.
